PEDI – restaurant & wine house

A modern ambience, healthy meals and an open kitchen are the trademarks of restaurant Pedi in Biberach old town. In 2008, the client wanted to expand the premises with a suitable extension. It had to be versatile in use – a space that could function as a separate service area with an attractive open-air area outside. The inner-city location of the restaurant and the small space of the courtyard posed a challenge for Monoplan. A compact, clear building structure with high architectural qualities and an adjoining outside area for guests had to be added directly onto the existing restaurant. It picks up from the open ambience of the existing restaurant and makes a distinctive impression on the restaurant environment. The bold architecture affords the extension a sense of openness and authenticity and underscores the philosophy of the restaurant. In 2011, the extension of restaurant Pedi was awarded the Hugo-Häring regional award from the federal state of Baden-Württemberg.
