Pool bar | Atlantis by Giardino

Befitting for the overall concept of Hotel Atlantis, the pool area and pool bar as the hub were developed in an elegant and contemporary design. The outside pool of the Atlantis is on the sunny side of the hotel, facing the Uetliberg mountain hillside, which brushes the expanse of the hotel. On one side of the huge swimming pool are the changing rooms; on the other side, the Ocean Bar. Both feature a thermo-ash exterior panelling, which is the same as the cladding used for the hotel balconies, thus creating an architectural link with the hotel.

The minimalistic appearance of the pool area reflects the architecture of the Zurich swimming events from the 60s and 70s. On the other hand, the bar’s interior significantly contrasts with the exterior – another similarity to the main building – with dark tones and luxurious materials. The bar can be opened out through a large folding door – featuring the same ornamentation as the outside pool – thus creating an inviting place to enjoy a refreshing drink.
